ZOMERLUST GASTEHUIS

Guesthouse
Paarl Central
Introduction
Zomerlust is situated in the breathtaking Paarl valley. Paarl lies in the heart of Boland wine country surrounded by majestic mountains, rolling vineyards and wine estates, making it the ideal base from which to explore the Boland and Western Cape.
The Zomerlust has close ties with the history of the Paarl Rock Brandy Cellar, since the latter was founded by Abraham Pieter de Villiers in 1856. The original Paarl Wine and Brandy Company was situated across the road from the Zomerlust guest house and legend has it that an underground pipe linked the maturation casks in the cellar to a tap, where guests were entertained in a grand style. Today this area has been restored into a cosy pub, Die Kraan. Accustomed to entertaining in grand style, the family could offer their own finely matured connoisseur brandy to their guest simply at the turn of a tap!
Zomerlust has been witness to a lavish lifestyle of people living and entertaining in the very best and most elegant manner, to such an extent that at one stage it was referred to by people of Paarl as Buckingham Palace!
Today this unique Manor House, is beautifully restored as a guest house, comprising of upmarket accommodation with personalised service.
